Content is Important
Content- Content- Content
Yes, we meant to say that three times, and probably should have said it more.
One thing we always run into is the lack of content on websites. What’s worse than having a fabulous looking website if you can’t seal the deal?
Your content is the one thing that attracts customers, turns them into leads, and converts them to sales. This is what you want! Content should be:
• Clear
• Concise
• Never in net speak
• Never in slang
• Should always include keywords
• Should always be UNIQUE- I bold that because it is probably the single most important aspect
• Rich with information
• As much contact information as possible- on your home page and contact page
• Make it user friendly- if someone can’t figure out your site, they will leave
• Grab their attention with visually impacting designs
• Put FAQ’s on your webpage- why you ask, well when someone wants to know the difference between a designer and developer, they are going to Google just that. By having the information on your web page, you have a better opportunity of getting traffic to your site.
• Product Page Pictures- No one wants to go to a product page with no pictures! In fact some people need to see the picture before purchasing it
• Try not to use the standard “ultimate” or “cheap” or “best”. These words are used too much. Some words need to be used but use them sparingly.
• Grammar and Punctuation- Without good grammar and punctuation you will lose your reader
• Consider your target areas
• Be persuasive, do not fill your site with content that appears to be just another sales gimmick
• First, be to the point- then expand on your information
• If you are selling products ensure your check out work properly
• Be entertaining, but factual
By following the above standards when adding content to your website, not only will you attract clients, bringing you one step closer to sealing the deal, but you are optimizing your website all at the same time.
