What is a Page? And how do I add one?
Pages are for content such as” Home,” “Products,” “About Me,” “Testimonials,” etc. etc. Pages are used to present information about your company. You can add as many pages as you like, and keep all of your information organized neatly! You can add sidebars, contact forms, add to parent pages, and so many other things. Your San Diego business home page is where you can import your customized Logo as well!
Pages differ from Posts because Pages are not frequently updated. Pages are considered more static which usually appear in alphabetical order; however, most companies list them in the order they would like clients and/or potential clients to see first. Keep in mind that pages do not appear in your RSS feeds, so clients must visit those pages directly to see if any updates have been applied. Additionally, you cannot apply categories or tags to Pages. Pages are where your Web Design skills will come into play!
The steps to add a Page:
1. Log into your WordPress control panel(dashboard)
2. Click on Pages
3. You will be taken to the Pages dashboard where you can control and see all Pages that you have made whether you have published them or not
4. Click “Add New”
5. Title your Page, and begin filling in the content using the toolbar to change font sizes, headings, adding pictures, and/or media.
6. To the left you will see settings box. This is where you will publish your Page or save it as a draft.
7. Once done, click publish and VOILA! You’re done!
The most common types of Pages are:
1. Home Page: This is your customized Page where first impressions are made and don’t forget about what they say about first impressions. Your Home Page should grab the person and keep their attention.
2. About Me: This is where you give the reader information about yourself, your company, and your product. Many businesses’ use this page to put their Business motto in.
3. Products/Services: This page is where you flaunt your company stuff!
4. Testimonials: This is the Page where your current clients brag about how great you guys are! This is actually a very valuable tool for marketing your site.
