Using Widgets in WordPress

Widgets are a wonderful way to add content and structure to your Web Design. They can be added, rearranged, deleted all from the comforts of your dashboard.

To Activate Widgets in your WordPress:

1. Go to your Dashboard > Appearance> Widgets
2. Choose the widget you want and drag it to the sidebar that you want that widget in.
3. Next, preview the site. You should now see the default elements in the sidebar gone and your new widget in its place.
4. To add more, repeat steps 1 through 3, until you are finished.
5. To rearrange the widgets, simply drag the widgets into the positions you want them in.
6. To remove the widget, click Remove or Delete.

Keep in mind that once you add the widgets, if you change the theme you may have to do the steps above again. San Diego business owners could take advantage of this by adding a weather widget to their home page!
